Carnival 2027
The session opens on 11 November 2026, and the main street events fall in early February. In 2027, Weiberfastnacht is on 4 February, Rosenmontag on 8 February, Veilchendienstag on 9 February and Ash Wednesday on 10 February. The tower and the treasury are closed on Weiberfastnacht, on Carnival Saturday and Sunday and on Rosenmontag.
Christmas market at the cathedral
The market on Roncalliplatz runs from 16 November to 23 December 2026. It opens Sunday to Wednesday 11:00–21:00, Thursday and Friday 11:00–22:00 and Saturday 10:00–22:00. The tower and the treasury are also closed on New Year's Day, on 11 November, on 24 and 25 December and on 31 December. Construction work can add closures for the tower.

The last entry to the tower is 30 minutes before closing. The last entry to the interior is 17:30 from Monday to Saturday and 16:15 on Sundays and church holidays. The church itself opens earlier, but that is not a tourist visit: on Sundays the interior opens to tourists at 13:30. The bell chamber of the tower is closed on Sundays and holidays until 14:00.
